Pitching and tail sway in caravan towing is usually due to bad balance of the caravan. Ideally the caravan/trailer should 10 to 15% of its weight onto the tow ball. Excessive weight on the towball will also make the rear of the car too low and take pressure off the front wheels, thereby making steering less effective, and potentially very dangerous. Load Equalizers sometimes called stabilisers are very effective at correcting these problems, if used correctly. To calculate which equaliser should be used, add the weight of the caravan to the weight of the luggage in the car boot. This set will distribute weights up to 750 lb.( 333kg) Set comes complete with (a)adjustable Head that fits the square Hayman Reese towbar, (b) 2 arms with attached chains, (c) 2 clamps to attach to A-Frame (d) mics parts and instructions.
